RHYL HOPING FOR A GOOD FRIDAY

RHYL v THE NEW SAINTS
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
FRIDAY 2.30pm

FIRST of all I just wanted to make it clear Rhyl's Good Friday meeting with The New Saints kicks off at 2.30pm.
Yes, I know it stated 7.30pm in the Visitor this week, and yes it was my mistake. Seeing the game was on a Friday, I just naturally assumed it would be a 7.30pm start, but sadly it slipped my mind that it was actually Good Friday.
One thing about Rhyl FC, though, when you make a mistake they don't let you forget it so on behalf of myself I say.....SORRY!
I've previewed the match in the Daily Post tomorrow and just hope I've remembered to put 2.30 otherwise I'll be in for another bashing from the Correction Police!
Right...to the game.
Rhyl will be seeking to gain revenge for a 4-0 defeat at Park Hall last November as well as grab a psychological advantage ahead of the League Cup final between the clubs at the end of this month.
It will be far from easy, though. The Saints are seven points clear at the Welsh Premier summit and are definitely the best team I've seen in the league this season.
The Lilywhites will probably still be without Rob Turner, whose groin strain suffered in the Neath game last month is taking longer to recover than hoped.
Otherwise the champions should be at full strength and player-manager Greg Strong is in a typically positive mood.
"As a player and a manager I want to test myself against the best and I'm looking forward to the game," added Strong.
"They (TNS) are top of the tree and currently the best in the league; they are not there by fluke and we know how hard it's going to be, but of course I believe we can get a result if we do what we can do.
"We were disappointing at Caersws last week, but time is a healer and we've got to move on.
"Our players won't need any motivating for this one - if they do then there is something wrong."
Today's clash will feature a totally different scenario to the last time the teams met at Belle Vue.
Almost 12 months ago Rhyl took to the field as champions with TNS reduced to bit-part players, but things have changed this season and a win today would edge the Saints ever closer to the title.
DON'T FORGET - KICK OFF 2.30pm!

I've got a sandwichboard if you want to walk around the town centre saying it's 2.30 tomorrow Dave ha ha! Don't listen to the knockers mate anyone who follows Rhyl will know it's 2.30 anyway, pity they didn't spend as much time telling fans what's going on rather than picking on mistakes. Team is great the club is cack
