MIKE JONES SAVES THE DAY
WELL-KNOWN Rhyl fan Mike Jones typified the spirit of loyal Lilywhites supporters on Tuesday.
Rhyl's top scorer Mark Connolly was unable to get out of work in time to meet the team bus travelling to Carmarthen, so Mike picked up Conno later on in his car from Chester and drove him down to west Wales.
"He must have broken the land-speed record as they arrived in Carmarthen before the team bus!," said Rhyl secretary Kevin Davies.
"The club is extremely grateful to Mike for his kind gesture which typifies the sort of spirit which exists among Rhyl's loyal supporters."
