STRONG REMAINS POSITIVE

ALTHOUGH his team is going through a difficult spell Rhyl player-manager Greg Strong is determined to remain positive.
The Lilywhites' 2-1 defeat at Port Talbot on Saturday meant they dropped to fifth and have now won just two of their last 11 Welsh Premier League outings.
There is also much concern off the field at Belle Vue over finances following president Peter Parry's decision to leave the club after 10 glorious years.
"There's no point looking at things negatively as it just drags you down," said a defiant Strong.
"Things are tough at the minute, we've got players who shouldn't be playing turning out carrying injuries and injured players sitting on the bench, but that's what can happen when you've got a relatively small squad. We've just got to get on with things."
Strong was full of praise for the Lilies' performance at Port Talbot, saying: "I couldn't have asked more from the players and was proud of every single one of them.
"We played some good stuff and I felt we deserved to win the game.
"After we equalised we looked like the only side who was going to win, but unfortunately it didn't go our way."
The player-boss was also pleased with the debut of ex-Sligo Rovers and Preston North End frontman Rob Turner, who scored Rhyl's goal.
"He created a few problems for them (Port Talbot) and took his goal well," said Strong.
"We need to get him up to scratch fitness-wise as he hadn't played in two months before joining us, but he's a big strong boy and will give us something different up front."
Rhyl will be anxious to return to winning ways when Gap Connah's Quay visit Belle Vue this Saturday (2.30pm).
"We need a win and we'll go out there to give it everything," said Strong.
"We've got fantastic supporters and they deserve to see us picking up a vital three points."
Striker Lee Hunt is still suspended, while among those with injury concerns are skipper George Horan.
