STONES OUT - OTHERS A DOUBT

LLANFAIRPWLL v RHYL
WELSH CUP SECOND ROUND
SATURDAY 2.30pm
DEFENDER Greg Stones is definitely out of tomorrow's Welsh Cup tie at Cymru Alliance side Llanfairpwll, while both Gareth Owen and Matthew Williams are rated doubtful.
Lilywhites manager Greg Strong reports Stones has not recovered from a knock which forced him off in last Saturday's 4-0 win over Porthmadog, while injured Owen and Williams are considered only 50-50 to play at Maes Eilian.
Striker Lee Hunt serves the last of a three-match ban.
While his team start massive favourites to win at Llanfairpwll, Strong is taking absolutely nothing for granted.
Welsh Premier League champions and current leaders, the Lilywhites are unbeaten all season and will be taking on an Anglesey-based outfit they have defeated 6-0 and 4-1 in the Welsh Cup in recent years.
"I reminded the players in training last night (Thursday) that in every country in the world lower teams beat higher teams," said Strong.
"We know we'll have to battle from the start and that teams look on us as a big scalp they are extra determined to beat."
Despite the absentees, Strong is still confident of winning the tie.
"We've still got enough quality about us - not only that we've got flexible players who can play in a lot of positions," he assured.
"We've strengthened the squad so what would have been a problem a few weeks ago is not a problem now."
Mark Connolly is likely to continue in a striking role for the Lilies and will be looking to score for the seventh successive match.
He has already set a modern-day record for the club by finding the net in six games in a row.
Llanfairpwll's long-serving manager Darren Moore, whose side is unbeaten in five starts, has a realistic view of the tie.
"Of course we want to go through, but to do that we'd need to be at our total best and Rhyl would have to have an off-day," he said. "There's a massive gap between the clubs, but we'll give it a go."
