SEMI-FINAL SPOT UP FOR GRABS
PORTHMADOG v RHYL
LOOSEMORES LEAGUE CUP QUARTER-FINAL
TUESDAY 7.30pm
RHYL will aim to put two below par league performances behind them when they travel to the Traeth tonight bidding to reach the League Cup semi-finals.
The opposition is Porthmadog, bottom of the Welsh Premier and without a win, but a team which has been showing good form in the cups.
Rhyl were awesome in their group matches leading to qualification for the last eight, boasting a 100% record with wins over Prestatyn Town (2-1; 3-0) and Airbus UK Broughton (2-1; 4-0).
Player-boss Greg Strong, who has no injury problems, has taken last Friday's 1-1 result at lowly Elements Cefn Druids on the chin.
The draw followed a first league defeat of the season at Neath, but the Lilywhites' boss said: "We probably should have taken more points than we have from the last two league games, but I'm still confident we'll be okay.
"We treat every game and every competition with exactly the same respect and we go out looking to win every time.
"So it's simply a case of dusting ourselves down and sending the lads back out."
