INJURY CONCERNS FOR LILYWHITES

HEAD coach Allan Bickerstaff says the fitness of captain and central defender George Horan and utility player Mark Connolly will need to be assessed before deciding whether to play them in Saturday's home meeting with Witton Albion.
Horan came off after 17 minutes of last night's friendly against Prestatyn after aggravating a groin strain suffered in the Champions League second qualifying round second leg match in Partizan Belgrade.
Connolly also picked up a knee injury in the Prestatyn match and was withdrawn before the end.
"We'll need to assess both players over the next 48 hours," said Bickerstaff, who added Luke Holden's late exit last night was only down to cramp.
Bickerstaff added he enjoyed the 0-0 draw against his old club.
"It was an excellent game full of quality football from both sides," said the coach. "It was especially pleasing to see my old friend Geraint (Gus) Williams, who is on the Prestatyn staff now."
The subject of how Rhyl FC will operate in the 2009/10 season is expected to be discussed by management and officials over the next few days.
Rumours and speculation are rife, but as yet nothing has been decided.
The fans are keen to know where the club stands on a number of issues with the first league game of the campaign just over a fortnight away.
