LEE HUNT REJOINS RHYL

RHYL FC have re-signed one of the most prolific strikers in the club's recent history.
Lee Hunt rejoined the Lilywhites today a month after his release from Barrow.
Hunt, 28, left Rhyl at the end of 2007/08 after scoring 116 goals in 165 competitive appearances over five seasons at Belle Vue.
The Liverpool-born striker felt he was being unfairly targeted by Welsh Premier League referees and decided to try his luck at Barrow, but the move to the Blue Square Premier outfit did not work out with Hunt scoring just two goals in 18 appearances.
He was loaned out twice to Fleetwood Town and Droylsden and Barrow chief Dave Bayliss deemed him surplus to requirements last month.
Hunt was top scorer in his last four seasons at Rhyl and is the club's second highest marksman of all-time in the Welsh Premier, but with the goals came regular disciplinary problems.
Lilywhites head coach Allan Bickerstaff, who had been in talks with the front man for the past fortnight in a bid to secure his return, insists Rhyl fans will see the positive side of Hunt this season.
"Lee starts with a clean slate," said Bickerstaff.
"He's a player I've admired for a long time; he's a fantastic competitor and will be an excellent acquisition for the club. He'll have a massive role to play in the season ahead."
Hunt joins former TNS duo John Leah and Martyn Naylor as the new faces at Belle Vue this summer, with so far Craig Jones, Jamie Reed, Josh Johnson, Chris Roberts, Carl Owen, Paul O'Neill, Gareth Wilson and Michael Jones having left the club.

Will be great to have Lee back, was well liked by all and always gave 110%. He will just need to be trained not to go in on keepers the same way. Reckon he will link up well with Robbo
Great to see him back.
Got to be good news. His record and performances last time for us were 1st class.
Used as the battering ram in our more direct style under JH, I'm sure he'll enjoy playing off Neil Roberts or alongside Matty Williams and I know there'll be a lot of centre halves not looking forward to his return.
Very Good signing. Still need a couple more though
Craig's right, a pacy winger, a good all-round defender and a midfield runner still needed, problem is I think the squad will be restricted to 16 so that leaves room for only one more signing. Expect a couple of last season's better reserves to step up. Tom Roberts and Tom Patel maybe.
Think your right Toss the squad will definately go no further than 16 based on the Chairmans comments of some weeks ago. Guess Conno will fit the defender/midfield role as will Stones that leaves one place for a pacey winger?
I think Tom Roberts stepping up would be a very good idea.
One thing we never do is test out the youngsters and surely him playing with the class players we have will bring him on in leaps and bounds
Ha ha ha! Lee Hunt on trial at AC Milan, Dave? That sure doesn't look like the San Siro in the background. Good constructive comments from everyone today.
To be honest I think with or without Danny Williams midfield is pretty strong. Gaz Owen and John Leah are quality footballers, Sherbon has energy to burn and a great goalscoring record for a midfielder and then you've got Conno and Stones who can both play well in there.
Right side of midfield and defensive cover is where we are a bit lacking.
Definitely a season where 1 or 2 of the best youngsters could well get their chance to show whether they are worth a place at Rhyl or need to be farmed out to Prestatyn.
Whoops sorry forgot, the local lads thing is over
This is way better than a brick & mroatr establishment.
