OWEN DOUBLE SEES RESERVES HOME

AFTER serving a 10-match ban goalkeeper Lee Kendall returned to action for Rhyl in Tuesday night's reserve fixture against Rhydymwyn, but it was first team squad striker Carl Owen who took the main plaudits with a two-goal salvo.
Kendall, who has not played for the first team since December, put in a solid, impressive display and must be a big contender to return for Saturday's Welsh Premier clash against Airbus UK Broughton.
Jon Stazicker also fielded regular first teamers Mark Connolly, Greg Stones, Josh Johnson and Owen against a decent Rhydymwyn outfit.
After a largely drab, goal-less first half in which Kendall produced a very good stop in a one-on-one situation, a clincal double from Owen in the second period booked the points.
Stones, Connolly and Johnson also all looked sharp, adding to the pleasant selection headaches Allan Bickerstaff will have over the next five crucial fixtures.
The reserves, second in the Welsh Alliance and still a decent bet to finish runners-up, made it a highly impressive 11 wins in 13 home league matches.
