UNLUCKY 13 AT PORT?

By Dave Jones on Mar 28, 09 09:15 PM

PORT TALBOT TOWN v RHYL
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
SUNDAY 2.30pm

WILL it be unlucky 13 for Rhyl at the Remax Stadium tomorrow?
The Lilywhites are seven points clear at the Welsh Premier summit having built a tremendous run of 12 straight wins, but Port Talbot will present a tough hurdle.
Mark Jones' side became one of only two teams to defeat Rhyl in the league this season when they won 3-2 at Belle Vue back in November, bringing to an end a sequence of eight successive defeats at that ground.
Port Talbot achieved their best ever WPL finish of fourth place last term, and while they will struggle to match that this season they are still a more than respectable eighth.
In Martin Rose they boast one of the best strikers in the league, a player who scored twice at Belle Vue, and in that 3-2 victory Drew Fahiya produced one of the finest individual performances seen against Rhyl this season.
"They were a tough enough side when we played them at home never mind away," said Rhyl head coach Allan Bickerstaff.
"We'll have to be on our top game to get anything from there.
"Mark Jones has done a fantastic job since he took over; I'm confident they'll finish high in the table."
Rhyl should be at full strength for the trip to South Wales save for a couple of midweek checks on players who have picked up minor niggles.
