WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE - MARCH 29, 2009

SUPER sub Greg Stones got Rhyl out of jail with an injury time equaliser which ensured the Lilywhites maintained their unbeaten away record in the Welsh Premier.
Things looked grim for Allan Bickerstaff's side when they trailed 2-0 with just 15 minutes left at the Remax Stadium, but the Lilies showed the spirit of champions to rally for a draw.
Although Rhyl's record 12-match winning run came to an end they will certainly see a share of the spoils against tough opposition which beat them at Belle Vue back in November as a point gained.
With Llanelli thrashing Porthmadog 5-0, the Lilywhites are now five points clear at the top having played a game more than Peter Nicholas' side.
The leaders endured a nightmare start when after just two minutes poor defending allowed Liam McCreesh the space to administer a fine right-foot finish.
Port could have grabbed a second when Martin Rose chased down a careless George Horan back-pass, but keeper Michael Jones' clearance ricocheted wide off the striker.
Rhyl settled and Jamie Reed headed wide before Luke Sherbon's long-range effort went close.
For the rest of the half the Steelmen had the better of things and the visitors were relieved to go in just 1-0 down at the break.
Soon after the restart Rhyl left-back Chris Roberts let fly with a 30-yarder which went desperately close to the equaliser.
But Port were still a danger and on the hour Scott Barrow curled a left foot beauty beyond Jones into the top corner to make it 2-0.
Rhyl now piled on the pressure but their luck was out until on 75 minutes a game of ping-pong in the area saw the ball arrive to defender Paul O'Neill who scored from 12 yards.
It was now one-way traffic but somehow a tiring Port survived further, then on 90 minutes Bickerstaff brought on Strong to use his height at set pieces.
In the third minute of injury time another scramble in the Talbot box led to Stones drilling in the equaliser to complete a stunning comeback.
Rhyl: M Jones, O'Neill, C Roberts, Horan, Strong, D Williams, G Owen, Sherbon (Connolly 80), N Roberts, Reed (M Williams 55), C Jones (Stones 90).

Well merited a point. Totally dominated the 2nd half, and the 2 goals aside i don't think Jones made another save. As for their 2nd being a beauty its more a howler on his part.

If we'd not been denied a blatent penalty just after our 1st goal I think we'd have won
