IT MUST BE A THREE-HORSE RACE
THE race to win the Welsh Premier League title must surely now be down to three teams - Rhyl, Llanelli and The New Saints.
Here are the remaining games for the chief contenders.
RHYL: Played 23 Pts 59
Feb 28 - Caernarfon Town (h)
Mar 03 - Technogroup Welshpool (a)
Mar 07 - Carmarthen Town (a)
Mar 13 - Bangor City (h)
Mar 21 - Caersws (a)
Mar 28 - Port Talbot Town (a)
Apr 04 - Airbus UK Broughton (h)
Apr 11 - Llanelli (a)
Apr 13 - Prestatyn Town (a)
Apr 18 - The New Saints (h)
Apr 25 - Newi Cefn Druids (a)
PROSPECTS: Very good but some hard games to come. March will be crucial with tough trips to Carmarthen and Port Talbot and a home clash with Bangor. By the end of March their chances will be clearer. Seven of their last 11 fixtures are away but they have been better on their travels anyway.
LLANELLI: Played 24 Points 58
Mar 07 - Newtown (h)
Mar 14 - Caernarfon Town (a)
Mar 20 - Port Talbot Town (h)
Mar 28 - Porthmadog (h)
Apr 3 - Haverfordwest County (a)
Apr 10 - Neath Athletic (h)
Apr 11 - Rhyl (h)
Apr 13 - Carmarthen Town (a)
Apr 17 - Aberystwyth Town (a)
Apr 25 - Connah's Quay Nomads (h)
PROSPECTS: Packed with experience and the fact they have been here before will help them. Six of their last 10 matches are at home (Neath date will be changed), but trips to Haverfordwest, Carmarthen and Aberystwyth will really test them.
THE NEW SAINTS: Played 25 Points 51
Feb 27 - Connah's Quay Nomads (a)
Mar 7 - Neath Athletic (a)
Mar 14 - Aberystwyth Town (h)
Mar 28 - Carmarthen Town (h)
Apr 4 (to be rearranged due to League Cup final) - Bangor City (a)
Apr 10 - Caersws (h)
Apr 13 - Technogroup Welshpool (a)
Apr 18 - Rhyl (a)
Apr 25 - Airbus UK Broughton (h)
PROSPECTS: To win the title they will have to go on a dynamic winning run and hope both Rhyl and Llanelli drop points. Definitely the outsiders of the three, too many draws have let them down.

Would have said that myself a fortnight ago, but no way now. For oswestry to beat us to the title, we would have to lose 5 of our remaining 11 games and they would have to win all nine. Even if we messed up completely like that, no way would llanelli also do so. And even if chance in a million llanelli simultaneously messed up, no way on current form would tns win those games anyway.
Absolutely impossible scenario now for tns to be champions...it's a two horse race. If Llanelli beat us at home, they are just one point behind.
TNS are involved in a serious race with carmarthen for third place. Outcome will probably depend on whether carmarthen's priority is 3rd place or the cup
Spot on Ffred. To be honest I haven't felt TNS have been much of a threat all season. They've lost too many of their best players and I think Mike Wilde going has been the final nail in their coffin.
With Harris desperately trying to draw back some cash I think this season, especially if they should finish 4th might, well prove to be the end of the TNS success story
2 horse for me now I reckon and has been for a couple of weeks
TNS seem to be really struggling to win games at the mo.
Be nice to go 7 pts clear before Llanelli play again, put some real pressure on them
