COMPLACENCY WILL BE THE BIGGEST ENEMY
RHYL v NEWI CEFN DRUIDS
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
FRIDAY 7.30pm
VICTORY in tonight's home clash with lowly NEWI Cefn Druids will give Rhyl a six-point lead at the Welsh Premier summit.
With second-placed Llanelli not in action until tomorrow afternoon, when they visit Gap Connah's Quay, the Lilywhites can steal a march on their rivals by stretching their undefeated record against Druids to 13 matches.
Although third from bottom, the Ancients enjoyed a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Caersws last weekend and often play above themselves when they visit Belle Vue.
It is going to take something special to stop the Lilies in their present form, though, as The New Saints will testify following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Rhyl last Saturday.
Senior coach Allan Bickerstaff insists there is no chance of his side resting on their laurels after that fabulous result.
"It was a great performance at TNS and a terrific result but that's behind us now and all our attention will be firmly directed on ensuring we keep that momentum going," he said.
"There is absolutely no chance of allowing complacency to interfere with our attitude.
"All the lads know only too well that every team that comes to Rhyl wants especially to win and to beat the leaders."
Rhyl should have a full squad available with midfielder Danny Williams recovering well from a recent thigh strain. Match report to follow later tonight.
