RHYL ON VERGE OF MAKING HISTORY

By Dave Jones on Sep 7, 08 01:00 PM

RHYL are on the verge of rewriting their Welsh Premier history.
If the Lilywhites beat Haverfordwest County next Saturday and make it five straight wins it will be their best ever start to a WPL season.
As recently as 2006/07 the Lilies won their opening four matches but were then thrashed 6-0 at Llanelli in their fifth.
This term Allan Bickerstaff's side have four straight victories under their belts and are top of the table.
Even a draw against Haverfordwest would make it 13 points out of a possible 15 and therefore Rhyl's best ever start in 15 seasons at this level, but they will want to set a new record in style.

To mis-quote Lena Martell, "one game at a time." I think Oswestry & Llanelli will drop points this season, so all we have to do is maintain a level of consistency. And fans have to show patience and faith when Rhyl throw in the inevitable lame performance. It's gonna happen every now & then. Bangor may very well come out of the pack. It's going to be interesting.
