RHYL SEEK A FLYER
RHYL v NEWTOWN
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
SATURDAY 2.30pm
EVERYTHING is set up for a successful start to the season for Rhyl against Newtown at Belle Vue today.
The Lilywhites have had a busy summer in the transfer market, signing up top class names like ex-Wrexham players Neil Roberts, Danny Williams, Jamie Reed and Josh Johnson, as well as former Bolton and Motherwell defender Greg Strong and ex-Manchester United and Notts County striker Matthew Williams.
Rhyl have lost just one of their last 14 meetings with the mid-Wales Robins and are unbeaten in 10 starts against them.
Last season the Lilies triumphed 2-1 and 2-0 against the Latham Park boys, but nothing is clear cut in the WPL and Rhyl will need to maintain the form they have shown in their last three pre-season friendlies to see off Darren Ryan's side.
Newtown have made some good captures themselves in the summer including former Caersws trio Mark Griffiths, Andrew Thomas and Neil Mitchell plus Gavin Cadwallader from Aberystwyth.
