SO....HOW'S IT LOOKING NOW?
AN 18-man squad, a reserve goalkeeper still needed and the future of Michael White undecided.
What next for Rhyl? Are there more signings to come? Further departures? So far it has been six in and six out during the close season.
Word has it there will definitely be some more players released. There appears to be an abundance of midfielders and strikers and defensive and goalkeeping cover is needed.

I can see Jiws and Garside going, possibly along with Chris Sharp, somewhat regretably.
If White returns And Conno is to play at right back then a left back and a left sided midfielder would round the squad of nicely
Even if Neil Roberts drops back to attacking midfield, one striker (not necessarily two) will go. Roberts, Williams and Reed - as high profile signings - will obviously stay. Jiws has no real roots in Rhyl and is most likely to go, but is the most natural goal-scorer of the six. Losing home-grown Sharp would be a disaster for reasons previously given. Carl Owen could conceivably make a quick return to Port.More likely that Carl and Sharpy will wait til the January window to see how things are working out. Jiws has time against him and will want to play imediately.Worst case scenario would be for two to go, lose another to injury and then follow the usual pendulum business of too many/too few strikers. We do need stability.
In the meantime top priority is obviously a FB - and back-up keeper
As usual Ioio you are spot on although I beg to differ on your loyalty and admiration for the skills (or not as the case might be) of Chris Sharp, when I think of Sharpy the adage 'barn door' springs to mind, sorry mate would be no loss as he rarely lifts his head out of his boots in my opinion. I agree its adios to Jiws, Garside and Owen possibly by Christmas.Lets just hope that this side can keep the ball on the ground this season the old high ball routine was getting tiresome under Hulsey. Talking of which anyone able to shed light on his new 'resting place'?
rhyl will never have a better chance of winning the title. simple as. if that means being ruthless cutting up the current squad and taking chances with reserve players should the need arise, then so be it. llanelli's old guard are not getting any younger and tns seem to be trimming the finances.
I agree with Wob,looks like we have the squad to mount a challenge this season, I just hope that Bickerstaff can be more ruthless than the previous management, and not favour certain groups of players. If the lads in the reserves are good enough then they should be given a chance. My sources tell me that Mike Harris (TNS) has informed his board that he will fund them for one more season only then 'he's out'?
