MICHAEL WHITE - "I WANT TO STAY AT RHYL"....EXCLUSIVE!
GIFTED young prospect Michael White wants to remain a Rhyl player, Lilywhites Online can reveal.
The 21-year-old New Zealand Under-20 international has been conspicuous by his absence during the close season while the Lilies plan for the 2008/09 campaign under new senior coach Allan Bickerstaff.
Stories of White going "missing" and losing interest in the club have been dismissed by the player who spoke to LO earlier today.
White explained he has undergone a complex nose operation during the summer which has led to him needing more recovery time than expected.
"People have been asking me where I've been, saying they'd heard I'd gone missing, but I've been at home recovering from the operation," he said. "It's taking time to recover, I went out for a run the other day and it was pretty painful, but things are improving."
White, who has played down under with Richmond, Nelson Suburbs, Canterbury United and Australian A-League side New Zealand Knights before a move to Waitakere United, signed for Rhyl in August 2007 after returning to live in North Wales, where he spent his early years in the Deganwy area.
In his first season with the Lilywhites he featured in 31 games (12 as substitute) and is best remembered for netting both goals in a 2-0 win at Bangor City in the League Cup semi-final second leg.
He told LO he is keen to stay at Belle Vue.
"I know the club is keen to keep me and I'm interested in staying," he said. "It's just a case of getting fully fit and then having talks with the club."

Really pleased to hear this one, think this lad has class, do home he gets a game, wonder how far down the 'pecking order' he will be. Never rerally go a good run in the side under John Hulse, who I feel never came to terms with his best position. talking of Hulsey, anyone spotted his new 'resting place' recently? Come on Dave J you must no where he's scarpered too?
