LLEWELYN IN TALKS WITH RHYL CHIEFS
WALES international Chris Llewelyn is due to have talks with Rhyl officials later today about a possible move to Belle Vue.
The ex-Norwich City midfielder was released by Wrexham at the end of last season following the Robins' relegation to the Conference.
Llewelyn is believed to be attracting the attention of Grimsby Town but will also meet Rhyl chiefs to hear what they have to offer.
If Llewelyn, 28, joins the Lilies he will become the latest member of the "Ex-Wrexham Club" to come to Belle Vue following in the footsteps of Neil Roberts, Jamie Reed and Gareth Owen within the last week.
Owen, 36, signed for Rhyl last night, ending his association as player-boss with Airbus UK. Midfield kingpin Owen was a Wrexham player for 10 years and won promotion with the club in 1993.
Striker Reed, 21, was being chased by TNS and Chester City, but opted for Rhyl. He was released by Brian Little last season following successful loan spells with Colwyn Bay and Aberystwyth Town.
** Apologies for this story not appearing on the blog last night but sadly we have been encountering technical problems.

Would love to believe Peter Parry & Co can pull this one off, what a scope that would be Llewelyn, Roberts and Reed, mouthwatering or what? However on a more cautious note have we got anyone in midfield that can ensure them plenty of quality ball? The ageing Kelly and Owen, experience galore admittedly, but have they got the legs for a long hard season? Surely we need a quality central defender to partner Horan with the defection of Ruffer and Brewerton?
O'Neill is obviously Horan's CB partner with Matty Holt also available.
Let's not forget Sharpy up-front either - we don't want to lose him to bangor.
With respect Ioio, don't think Holty is up to the standard, average defender gets a nose bleed when crossing half way line going forward. As for Sharp unfortunately half the player he was after such a horrific injury, a ral shame. I agree with your comment on O'Neill definately deserves a chance in his favoured central position.
I disagree with the comment about Matthew Holt, I don't think he's let us down so far and with a good run in the side and a chance to develop I think he can become a top class Welsh Premier defender. I believe a back line of Horan, O'Neill, Holt and possibly Chris Roberts in the left-back role can be good enough for next season although of course if better players become available we've got to go for it. Hats off to Peter Parry and the directors for going for top class talent, we need that sort of positive approach to take the club forward. John Hulse was great for his time, but I think over the past couple of seasons football overtook him and the time is right for new blood. Whether that man is Allan Bickerstaff, well the jury is still out but we've got to give the man a chance. I enjoy this site as fans express their opinions sensibly and there is none of that acidy type spite we get on other message boards. You can make strong points without getting sbusive and personal. Keep it up!
Other N Wales clubs already making disparaging comments about "Wrexham cast-offs." Let's just wait and see? Hopefuly we can ram their cynicism down their gobs. After speaking to PP in Dublin & in the light of the recent signings / speculation I am very optimistic about the future (given the new away shirt -the future's bright, the future's orange!).
If they are "Wrexham cast-offs" then it's a pretty good club to be getting cast-offs from. Up to last season they were the only North Wales club in the Football League. There's no shame in a Welsh Premier side taking on ex-Football League players, especially ones with plenty still left in the tank.
Bit harsh on Sharpy JDH
He had a horrific injury and it will take a while to get back to the sort of form he was in before it.
Its matches he needs and towards the end of last season he was showing signs of getting there. He was played out of position in quite a few games on the wing.
Remember that thunderbolt he scored at Belle Vue? Truly brilliant.
Give the lad time, he will be back and hungrier than ever this season.
I'd make securing Sharpy's future the Number 1 priority
Id miss Sharp Snr berating his lad from the stands and telling him to "pull his socks up" (or words to that effect!).
