NO LET UP FROM BOHS
BOHEMIAN will not be taking their foot of the pedal in the return leg of the Intertoto Cup against Rhyl FC on Saturday, reports their club's official website.
Despite holding a commanding 5-1 lead from the first leg, manager Pat Fenlon will not be making wholesale changes for the second.
"We will not be easing up in the second leg," he said. "I want to make sure that we progress, because the Intertoto Cup is a priority for the club. We have approached the second leg as we would any other game."
Rhyl will have been disappointed with the result in Dalymount, and they will be looking to at least salvage some pride from the encounter with a competitive performance at Belle Vue.
In the first leg, the Welsh side had frustrated the home side for 50 minutes before conceding five goals to a second-half resurgence from Bohs.
Fenlon has already engaged in some squad rotation. At Finn Harps on Tuesday, Glenn Cronin came into the starting eleven for Kevin Hunt, while Jason Byrne similarly made way for Glen Crowe.
It could well be a case of role reversal for the game in Wales. The manager commented: "I will make a few changes for the Rhyl game but the team will not change too much. My priority is progress in Europe and we will be doing everything we can to achieve that."
Centre-half Liam Burns will miss out on the trip across the Irish Sea. He suffered a groin strain in training and is expected to be out for at least two weeks. Jason McGuinness will take the vacant berth to partner Ken Oman. Conor Powell is on the recovery trail, and it is expected that the U-21 international will be available in the next three weeks following an ankle injury.
Six hundred Bohemian fans are expected to travel, with three official buses organized to bring supporters to the game via Holyhead. It is expected that the Irish and Welsh supporters will mix freely in a cordial atmosphere.
Bohs fans are looking forward to meeting again with their Rhyl counterparts who made the trip to Dublin last week.
