HORAN STAYS - BREWERTON AND GANN ON THEIR WAY

By Dave Jones on Jun 30, 08 01:21 PM

George HoranGREAT news for Rhyl supporters - central defender and skipper George Horan has re-signed for the club.
Pre-season speculation was rife that Horan was bound for full-time football at TNS or Conference clubs, but this morning the 26-year-old stopper reaffirmed his commitment to the Lilywhites for the season ahead.
Horan joined Rhyl from Connah's Quay Nomads for the 2005/06 season and has made over 100 first team appearances for the Lilies.
On a sad note, long-serving defender James Brewerton has quit Belle Vue and is believed to be signing for Bangor City today.
Brewerton made his 300th appearance for Rhyl in the first leg of the Intertoto Cup tie against Bohemian in Dublin.
Also departing the club is goalkeeper John Gann, who made his swansong in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Bohemian at Belle Vue.
Gann, 29, was signed by John Hulse in October 2005 as cover for Paul Whitfield, but got his big chance later that season and was one of the heroes of Rhyl's 2006 winning Welsh Cup run. He made 33 league appearances for the first team over three seasons.
Big signings are being predicted at Belle Vue following the capture of ex-Wrexham star Neil Roberts and two potential recruits were seen at the Bohemians game on Saturday.
Jamie Reed, 20, a promising young Wrexham goal getter who was loaned to Aberystwyth for half a season after previous loan spells at Glentoran and Colwyn Bay, returned to the Racecourse in January 2008 after netting nine Welsh Premier goals for Aber.
Chris Llewelyn, 28, is a midfield maestro who was released by Wrexham this month following the club's relegation to the Football Conference.
A full Wales international, Llewelyn has made 170 league appearances for the Robins and formerly played at Norwich City, Bristol Rovers and Hartlepool United.
Both Reed and Llewelyn are believed to be in discussions with Rhyl officials about a possible move to Belle Vue.
And tonight talks are due to take place with another top class midfielder with strong ex-Wrexham links who now operates in the Welsh Premier League.
