ROWLANDS FOLLOWS HULSE OUT THE DOOR
PAUL Rowlands, number two to departed Rhyl manager John Hulse last season, has also left the club.
This puts an end to speculation that Rowlands might be employed in a caretaker manager's role at least for next month's Inter-Toto Cup ties against Bohemian of Dublin.
A club source confirmed, however, that coach Gary Powell, a hugely popular figure amongst the players, has been asked to stay at Belle Vue.
The current smart money is on Osian Roberts, the FAW's technical director who became Rhyl's director of football last November, taking charge for the European games at least.
The club's board is due to meet tomorrow night to discuss the way forward and in the near future an open meeting will be held for fans to reveal what decisions have been made.

In a way I'm glad Rowlands has left following closely on the tail of Hulse, disappointed Powell has been asked to stay, note your comment "popular figure amongst the players" that may well be the case, but is he popular with the fans? - I think not! Little evidence over the last season of his work being effective, players didn't look as fit as in past seasons, exactly what is his role anyway?
