RESERVES BEATEN AT Y MORFA
CONWY UNITED 4 (Paul Cassidy 40 and 85, Oliver Walters 58, Callum Vernon 75)
RHYL RESERVES 3 (Andy Booker 52 and 90, Mitchell Booth 65)
WELSH ALLIANCE LEAGUE
BIG disappointment for a Rhyl side which had thrashed Conwy 5-0 in the Cookson Cup only a fortnight ago.
In front of a crowd of just six (yes six!) minus a half-baked reporter who turned up at Belle Vue thinking the game was there, the Musselmen gained sweet revenge.
Danger man Paul Cassidy struck in the 40th minute to give Conwy a half-time lead, and although Andy Booker levelled seven minutes after the break, Oliver Walters soon edged the hosts back in front.
Mitchell Booth made it all square in the 65th minute, but then Callum Vernon restored the Tangerines' advantage and Cassidy all but clinched the points with his second and Conwy's fourth five minutes from the end.
Booker, who had scored a hat-trick against Conwy in the cup tie, replied in the 90th minute to make it six goals in three games, but it was too late to save Rhyl from a bad defeat.
