LILYWHITES LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK
CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS v RHYL
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
BOXING DAY 2.30pm
NONE of the five key players who missed Rhyl's defeat at Llanelli on Saturday are likely to be back for Wednesday's visit to the Deeside Stadium.
Mark Connolly, who was injured in training in the week leading up to the Stebonheath Park clash, and Chris Roberts, hurt in the 0-0 draw at Carmarthen on December 15, both need more time to recover, while longer-term casualties Craig Garside, Jimmy Kelly and James Brewerton are still some way off full fitness.
But the Lilywhites should still have too much firepower for a Connah's Quay side currently languishing in fourth from bottom and with just three wins in their last 18 competitive matches.
Although Nomads were a long-standing bogey side of Rhyl, the tables have turned over the past five seasons.
The Lilies are unbeaten against the Deesiders in eight league clashes and have won several cup games in between.
This season, the teams have met twice in the League Challenge Cup, Rhyl winning 6-1 at Belle Vue and 2-1 at the Deeside Stadium.
In League of Wales/Welsh Premier tussles overall, since 1994/95 Connah's Quay boast 14 wins, Rhyl eight and there have been four draws.
