OSIAN ROBERTS JOINS THE LILYWHITES - EXCLUSIVE!

FAW technical director Osian Roberts has joined the management team at Rhyl Football Club, Lilywhites Online can exclusively reveal.
Roberts will take on an advisory role at Belle Vue, working with the club as and when his full-time commitments allow.
The appointment has the full blessing of Rhyl first team manager John Hulse, who indeed pushed for it to be made.
As part of the UEFA Licence requirement, all clubs will need to have a Pro badge holder on their staff by 2009.
Being the Welsh Premier League's most highly qualified coach, Roberts more than fits the bill.
"It's a great boost for Rhyl FC to have Osian on board," said Hulse. "If there was an area where I felt we could improve it's this one (having a Pro licence coach).
"I would like to thank Peter Parry (president) and Dave Milner (managing director) for backing me in my bid to bring in someone of Osian's stature.
"Nothing changes on the management front, I'm still first-team manager, but what we have done is greatly strengthen what we already have by bringing in Osian. The great thing about Osian is he knows the Welsh Premier - all the players and all the clubs - inside out."
Through his Uefa Pro badge qualification, Roberts teaches other managers from the English Premiership downwards.
Since his appointment as FAW technical director in May, he has been in charge of increasing participation in Welsh football from grass roots to the international stage.
A former Bangor City player and Porthmadog manager, Roberts has been Anglesey's football development officer for a number of years and led the squad in the 2005 Island Games.
He has also coached Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 levels.
Roberts is expected to be at Belle Vue tomorrow for Rhyl's big derby with Bangor City.
Hulse, however, will not be present as he has a long-standing family commitment overseas, therefore assistant Paul Rowlands will take charge of the side.

I think this is a pretty shrewd move by the club
Welcome to Osian !!
Btw hes already bought a programme the other week ;-)
I heard about this today, but as a lined up replacement for JH, as JH has no coaching qualifications and Osian has a Pro licence.
A very well respected figure in Welsh Football.
Dave replies:
Speculation Andy, as there always is when things like this happen. I think the club will be keen to see how things work out before any decisions like that are made, whether what you say is the eventual aim remains to be seen.
Are you going to send me that pic we talked about soon mate?
I reckon he's been brought in to do the TV interviews until Brewie's fit again !
Dave replies:
I reckon S4C should do a documentary on Rhyl's most famous supporter, the only man who stands on the Belle Vue terraces with his own Wikipedia page - the one and only Ffred Ffransis. Be a great feature that on Clwb Pel Droed, well known supporters of Welsh Premier clubs, they could do Bryn Terfel (Caernarfon), Aled Jones (Bangor), Ffred (Rhyl) etc, etc.
My bonnie lies over the Osian
