HULSE EYES QUARTER-FINAL BERTH
CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS v RHYL
LEAGUE CUP GROUP TWO
TUESDAY 7.30pm
JOHN Hulse insists there is no margin for error when his Lilywhites travel to the Deeside Stadium to take on Connah's Quay Nomads in tonight's League Cup group two decider.
Rhyl need just a point to qualify for the quarter-finals as group winners, but defeat would hand top spot to Bangor City and leave the Lilies needing to rely on finishing as one of the best two runners-up to progress to the last eight.
"It's a very important game, I don't want us to have to rely on finishing best runners-up, I want us to win the group," said Hulse.
Rhyl thrashed a young Nomads side 6-1 at Belle Vue in this competition last month and Hulse's men boast an excellent recent record against their one-time bogey team.
It is hoped defender Carl Ruffer, who missed Friday's win at Cefn Druids through illness, will be back in contention, as well as Andy Moran, who went off injured four minutes from the end of the 4-1 victory at Plaskynaston.
"He had a late bang, but we're hoping he'll be ok," added Hulse.
Craig Jones, who was injured in training last week, is unlikely to be risked, but Hulse insisted he would send his strongest possible squad to Deeside.
