HUNT DOUBLE HELPS SINK CEFNI

LLANGEFNI TOWN 0
RHYL 3 (Hunt 10 & 90, Roberts 58)
NEWLY-PROMOTED Llangefni put up a spirited performance at Talwrn Road, but they were no match for the Lilywhites in the finishing stakes.
John Hulse's side flushed the Llanelli defeat out of their system with their second win in three league starts.
Rhyl struck first on 10 minutes when Lee Hunt netted from close range via a corner with Cefni keeper Farai Jackson nowhere.
Jackson was more impressive in the 38th minute when he made a superb save from a George Horan header following a Jimmy Kelly free-kick.
Andy Moran had a great chance early in the second stanza when clean through but his weak shot failed to trouble Jackson.
The second goal was not far away, however. On 58 minutes a great run and cross by Craig Jones was finished off at the back post by Chris Roberts.
In the 69th minute, Cefni substitute Darren Thomas took advantage of a rare Carl Ruffer slip to race through, but his shot was brilliantly tipped past the post by Lee Kendall.
Llangefni had not given up by any means and they created a few uncomfortable moments for the Rhyl defence, but in the 90th minute the visitors clinched the spoils with a third goal.
A well-struck pass from Paul O'Neill released Moran whose firm cross was finished off by the ever-alert Hunt.
RHYL: Kendall, Jones, Roberts, O'Neill, Horan, Ruffer, Kelly (Connolly 83), Garside (Wilson 75), Hunt, Moran, Holt. Sub not used: Powell.

It is a big step up from the Cymru Alliance to Welsh Premier. Hopefully Cefni will pick up some points very very quickly or twill be a tough old season. Good to see Rhyl bouncing back with a win. And as for the Reserves! You will soon be running out of numeral headlines , Dave.
