BACK TO WINNING WAYS IN STYLE
RHYL RESERVES 5 (Sharp 29, Roose 34, 89, White 35, 53)
AMLWCH TOWN 2 (Burgess 18, Mason 44)
AFTER back-to-back home defeats Rhyl returned to winning ways by beating Amlwch in a seven-goal thriller for the second time this season.
Earlier in the campaign Jon Stazicker and James Ainsworth's side had defeated the same opposition 4-3 on Anglesey and they completed the double on Saturday in more emphatic fashion.
It was Amlwch who struck first on 18 minutes when Dylan Roberts crossed for James Burgess to sidefoot past John Gann in the home goal.
Welsh Alliance leaders Rhyl levelled after 29 minutes when Mike Roose flicked on Adam France's delivery to Chris Sharp who finished confidently.
It became 2-1 to the hosts five minutes later when Roose converted a Michael White cross from 12 yards.
Then when Gann sent a long kick downfield, Roose returned the favour by flicking on for White to score.
Just before the break an offside looking Steve Mason was allowed to notch Amlwch's second.
White was in great form for the home side and on 53 minutes he cut on from the left and lashed home a beauty from all of 25 yards.
Although Rhyl were well on top it was not until the last minute that they made it 5-2. White crossed and the diminutive Roose scored with a rare header.
RHYL: Gann, Ahern, Millington, France, T Roberts, S Brewerton (J Roberts), Williams, Booth, Sharp, Roose, White.
