PWLLHELI 1 (Bratt 70)
RHYL RESERVES 2 (Booth 44, Roose 66)
FOR the second time this season Rhyl ran out winners at Recreation Road but they were made to fight all the way before progressing to the second round of the Cookson Cup.
As has often been the case of late, the Lilywhites started slowly and Pwllheli had good opportunities, but shots from Dylan Thomas and Chris Griffiths did not bother visiting keeper John Gann.

AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON 1 (McIntosh 38)
ON Tuesday Rhyl won pretty - tonight they won ugly.
The Lilywhites needed an 84th minute penalty from Andy Moran to see off 10-man Airbus, who also lost their goalkeeper and had to play with a stand-in for the last half-hour.
RHYL 6 (Moran 20, Holt 36, Hunt 41 & 69, Cameron 47 & 54)
CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS 1 (Herbert 13)
THE hiding John Hulse had predicted his team would dish out when they finally found their shooting boots arrived in some style tonight.
Scathing of his side's poor finishing on Saturday, Hulse could have no complaints this evening as the Lilywhites blitzed Nomads 6-1 to storm to the top of Loosemores League Cup Group Two with a 100% record.
JOHN Hulse wants to see improved performances from striker Dave Cameron.
The Rhyl manager feels since returning from suspension, the veteran front man has not been producing his best form.
RHYL defender James Brewerton could be out of action for up to a month after limping off injured playing for the reserves against Glan Conwy last week.
Brewerton, 27, who has made almost 300 first team appearances for the Lilywhites, has not featured much this season, but was working his way back into contention with the reserves when bad luck struck.
RHYL'S former Wales Under-21 international goalkeeper Paul Whitfield has signed for Unibond League Division One South club Cammell Laird.
It means Whitty, 25, is reunited with John Hulse's former assistant Neil Young at Kirklands Stadium, as well as ex-Lilywhites team mates Carl Clampitt, Lee Atherton and Chris Taylor.
RHYL FC has unveiled its new youth team which will soon represent the club in the first round of the Welsh Youth Cup.
As part of Rhyl’s commitment to conforming to the strict new licensing on junior football, which dictates it fields two youth teams of under-19s playing in recognised leagues, the Lilywhites have linked with Prestatyn Rangers who will play for the club as an official affiliated team as laid down by the UEFA and the Welsh Premier League guidelines.
RHYL RESERVES 5 (Sharp 29, Roose 34, 89, White 35, 53)
AMLWCH TOWN 2 (Burgess 18, Mason 44)
AFTER back-to-back home defeats Rhyl returned to winning ways by beating Amlwch in a seven-goal thriller for the second time this season.
Earlier in the campaign Jon Stazicker and James Ainsworth's side had defeated the same opposition 4-3 on Anglesey and they completed the double on Saturday in more emphatic fashion.
HAVERFORDWEST COUNTY 1 (Woodrow 49)
RHYL 1 (Moran 60)
WASTEFUL Rhyl incurred the wrath of manager John Hulse after they missed a host of chances to take the three points at New Bridge Meadow.
With leaders Llanelli surprisingly dropping two points at home to lowly Caersws, the Lilywhites had the ideal opportunity to turn up the pressure on Peter Nicholas' side, but the lack of a killer instinct in front of goal which has plagued them this season haunted them again.
LILYWHITES Online, the web-blog dedicated to the daily goings-on at Rhyl FC, is getting around 7,000 hits a month.
Started by Visitor sports editor Dave Jones in March, LO is the top performer out of 15 blogs operated by the Trinity Mirror North Wales newspaper group.
