WELSH Premier League chief John Deakin has infuriated Rhyl supporters over a disparaging comment he made about the town in an interview regarding summer football.
"Mention any kind of change in the Welsh Premier and there's rioting in the streets of Rhyl," Deakin told the Wales on Sunday.

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
TWO goals from close season signing Phil Coffin ensured Jon Stazicker and James Ainsworth's first match in charge of Rhyl Reserves was a winning one.
Taking on a strong Cymru Alliance side on their own ground, the Lilywhites clinched victory with a goal in each half.
HOT prospect Michael White could commit himself to Rhyl next week if a trial at a Football League club does not work out.
Lilywhites manager John Hulse reports the 20-year-old, who went to primary school in North Wales before his family emigrated to New Zealand but have now returned to Britain, remains impressed with the set-up at Rhyl.
ITALIAN Gianluca Graziolo is expected to sign for Rhyl next weekend, says manager John Hulse.
The 22-year-old, who has impressed in friendlies against Sutton Common Rovers and Ashville in pre-season, is due to put pen to paper after the Lilywhites' warm-up match against Ashton Athletic next Sunday (August 5).
RHYL manager John Hulse has reported good news on the facial injury which forced skipper George Horan to leave the field during the second-half of the Hednesford clash.
It was first feared Horan may have suffered a re-occurrence of the broken cheekbone he sustained against Llanelli in April which put the centre-half out of action for eight weeks.

HEDNESFORD TOWN 3 (Dyer 19, Marshall 55, Styche 79)
CLASSY Unibond League Premier Division side Hednesford provided Rhyl with an ideal tough workout ahead of Thursday's return UEFA Cup clash with FC Haka.
The Pitmen won at Belle Vue by three goals to two, bringing to an end the Lilywhites' unbeaten pre-season run.
RHYL'S UEFA Cup opponents FC Haka returned to winning ways tonight with a 2-0 success at Honka in the Veikkausliiga, the Finnish premier division.
With just one victory in their previous six starts, the Valkeakoski outfit were seemingly in decline, but goals from Toni Lehtinen and Valeri Popovitch sealed the victory which moved Haka up to second in the table.

RHYL 2 (White 37, Desormeaux 80)
SUBSTITUTE Danny Desormeaux's 80th minute strike sealed victory for a Rhyl side which should have won more emphatically.
The Lilywhites produced some good passing football at Villa Park, but at times lacked the killer ball in danger areas.
FORMER Rhyl FC manager Ray Jones has passed away aged 63.
A native of Deeside, Ray carved out an illustrious pro career as a granite-hard full back with Chester making 169 appearances for the Blues between 1962 and 1969.

WAS Rhyl's 3-1 win over FC Haka the greatest victory yet by a Welsh Premier League side in Europe?
While WPL clubs have struggled to make an impact in Euro competitions over the past 15 years, there have been some memorable performances.
