ONE of the most inspirational figures behind the scenes at Belle Vue has secured the club more great publicity.
The Rhyl Football Club Healthy Living Scheme, led by commercial director Mally Jackson, has been recognised by Food Standards Agency Wales as part of its 2007 AFAL Award Scheme.

The award, launched in November 2003, recognises individual or team contributions to local nutrition initiatives that have made a positive impact on the diet or eating habits in the communities they serve.
The £1,000 award and a celebratory fruit bowl was presented to Mally by Robert Pickard, director-general of the British Nutrition Foundation, during the agency’s nutrition conference in Wrexham last week.
Rhyl Football Club Healthy Living Scheme aims to encourage children to have healthier diets and live more active lives.
Children are urged to eat five pieces of fruit a day and do at least five sessions of 30 minutes activity each week.
This is done by inviting the children into the club for a tour of the ground and dressing rooms and then telling them how the players prepare for matches and about their diet and exercise routines.
"Since implementing the Rhyl FC Healthy Living Scheme in March 2006, we have had nearly 600 children to tour the ground and learn more about healthy living which complements their learning in the classroom," said Mally.
"Without the support of Rhyl Town Council and Sainsburys, plus our many other partners, the scheme would have never happened.
"The feedback we have received back from the pupils and teachers has been really rewarding, with many schools taking the time to personally design thank you cards.
"We are obviously delighted to win this award from a recognised body such as the Food Standards Agency, which makes us more determined to continue to develop our community partnerships and increase the number of schools visiting the ground to complement the activity of the Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Scheme."
Putting Rhyl FC's name up in lights has become a regular thing for Mally.
Last month, it was reported Rhyl had joined forces with two top Premiership clubs to continue to develop their work in the community.
After successfully being accredited with Business in the Community Clubs that Count status for 2007/08, Rhyl has gained agreement from Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City to work alongside both in assisting and guiding the Lilywhites in developing their community initiatives.
Commercial director Mally has had numerous meetings with both clubs to look at various schemes that will help deliver some of the social/community issues in Rhyl and surrounding areas.
Keep up the good work Mally - Rhyl FC is proud of you!
