KENDALL AND BOARDMAN NON-STARTERS
RHYL have been forced to abandon their interest in Haverfordwest County goalkeeper Lee Kendall.
Lilywhites manager John Hulse had made an approach to the Bluebirds after it was reported Kendall had submitted a transfer request, but it has since emerged the Welsh semi-professional custodian is staying put.
"We were told by Haverfordwest's chairman that there was no way they would release Kendall as he is on a three-year contract," said Hulse.
"It's a pity as I regard him as the best keeper in the Welsh Premier, but we still have two excellent goalkeepers at the club in John Gann and Paul Whitfield."
Newport County were also rebuffed when they made enquiries about Kendall recently.
Meanwhile, Hulse has also decided not to recruit Colwyn Bay defender John Boardman.
The Rhyl chief revealed last month the 26-year-old former Liverpool academy and Burnley player had been invited to train with the Lilies.
"John has suffered a bout of tonsilitis and been unable to attend training, and for now we've decided not to pursue our interest," said Hulse.
