CALVIN DEAL OFF
PROLIFIC striker Calvin Davies will not be joining Rhyl, manager John Hulse has revealed.
The 24-year-old front man, who has played for Welshpool Town, Caernarfon Town, NEWI Cefn Druids and ConnahâÂÂs Quay Nomads in the Welsh Premier, as well as Colwyn Bay, was considered surplus to requirements at pre-season training.
âÂÂI had a good chat with Calvin and explained that if he was looking to play week in, week out, heâÂÂd been better off looking elsewhere,âÂ? said Hulse.
âÂÂWeâÂÂve already got Dave Cameron, Andy Moran, Lee Hunt and â when heâÂÂs fit â Chris Sharp, and IâÂÂm expecting an answer soon from Cortez Belle (recently released by Llanelli) on whether heâÂÂll be joining us, so I canâÂÂt carry too many strikers.
âÂÂCalvin took it in good spirit and thanked me for my interest, and I said the same to him. HeâÂÂs a good striker who will always score goals, and who knows whatâÂÂs around the corner, but as well as the forwards IâÂÂve got there are others on trial, so I through IâÂÂd let Calvin know the situation sooner rather than later.âÂ?
