IN the first of two features reviewing the 2006/07 season, Lilywhites Online discusses Rhyl's performance in the Welsh Premier League.
This was the Lilies' 13th season in the WPL and they started their quest to repeat their only championship success of 2003/04 in determined fashion.
NORTHERN Ireland Under-21 international Conall Murtagh is set to sign for Football League Two club Wrexham - just days after joining Conference North outfit Southport.
Lilywhites Online exclusively revealed on Sunday that Murtagh, 21, had decided to leave Rhyl and play full-time football at Haig Avenue under Peter Davenport.
But Southport have since agreed to tear-up the contact to allow the Irishman to resume his professional career.
RHYL FC have appointed a new club secretary.
He is Joe Furnival, of Prestatyn, who replaces long-standing secretary Dennis McNamee.
THE much-travelled Paul Rowlands has been appointed assistant manager to John Hulse at Rhyl.
Rowlands, 46, had a brief spell as number two to Hulse at Belle Vue four seasons ago, but left to pursue business interests.
CARLSBERG West Cheshire League Division One champions West Kirby will welcome Rhyl for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 14 (3pm kick off).
The Marine Park outfit won the Division One title by 16 points this season and their reserves were runners-up in Division Two.

MIDFIELDER Conall Murtagh has left Rhyl to join Conference North club Southport, it was revealed today.
Murtagh, 21, was made an offer that was "too good to refuse" by Sandgrounders boss Peter Davenport, the former Bangor City manager.

RHYL boss John Hulse has revealed he is in negotiations to sign a defender and midfielder for his squad.
The Lilywhites chief said both players are proven quality but he could not disclose further details as talks are at a delicate stage.

RHYL'S star striker Lee Hunt is due to meet manager John Hulse this week to discuss terms for the 2007/08 season.
Hunt, 25, was the Lilywhites' top scorer last term with 24 goals in 31 starts, and has netted 93 times in 125 full appearances for the club.
RHYL FC will welcome Unibond League outfit Hednesford Town to Belle Vue for a pre-season friendly on July 28.
The Staffordshire-based club reached the fourth round of the FA Cup in 1996/97, beating Blackpool and York City before losing 3-2 to Middlesborough.

THE footballer with arguably the longest throw in Welsh football has expressed an interest in joining Rhyl.
Phil Molyneux, a regular with Connah's Quay Nomads for the past two seasons, will attend pre-season training at Belle Vue.
