RHYL RESERVES PRAY FOR A MIRACLE

WELSH ALLIANCE LEAGUE
RHYL Reserves still have a remote chance of winning the Welsh Alliance League - but to do so leaders Denbigh Town would have to lose their final match at Llanrug United on Saturday by five clear goals.
Simon Sedgwick's side kept their slim hopes of title glory alive by coming from behind to beat Rhydymwyn 2-1 at Belle Vue.

On the same evening, Denbigh Town whipped Conwy United 5-1 at Central Park to boost their goal difference lead over Rhyl to + 5. The top two both have 68 points, but Town have one match to play, while Rhyl have completed their fixtures.
Llanrug, who have already won 3-1 at Denbigh this season, are certainly capable of beating Tim Dyer's side this Saturday, but surely a five-goal victory is too much to expect.
Rhyl Reserves rounded off a league campaign which has seen them finish unbeaten at home by edging out a capable Rhydymwyn outfit.
The visitors posed the first threat when a Luke Reece header forced a fine tip-over from Lilywhites keeper Dave Vickers.
Dylan Owen created a chance for the hosts on 13 minutes but his tantalising cross into the box was missed by Andy Davies, Ian Dunn and Mike Roose.
Alec Williams almost put Rhyl ahead in the 29th minute when his header from a Matthew Roberts cross clipped the post.
Ian Cropper was not too far away with two free-kicks for Rhydymwyn, then poor defending allowed Peter Hughes through on goal but he shot over.
Davies and Williams combined to set up Dunn right on the interval, but he dragged wide.
Straight from the restart, Rhydymwyn grabbed the lead. Hughes fed a neat ball through to Reece who fired in from the edge of the box.
Moments later Rhyl almost conceded a second when Matthew Roberts had to clear off the line from Tom Evans.
On 51 minutes the home team levelled with a bizarre goal. Davies pumped in a high cross from the right touchline and on the hard ground the ball bounced over Rhyd's giant centre backs and keeper Danny Stanton into the net.
Dunn, who did not have the best of nights, blasted one effort over, headed another one wide, then somehow failed to score from a rebound after his initial shot was saved by Stanton.
Adam Jones then hit a firm drive which looked goalbound but was deflected wide by his own team-mate Roose.
In the 80th minute Vickers shone again with a great save from Evans, but eight minutes from time Rhyl notched the winner when Chris Roberts headed home from a corner.
RHYL RESERVES: Dave Vickers, Andy Davies, Adam Jones, Matthew Harrison (MOM), Chris Roberts, Dylan Owen, Alec Williams (Dan Evans 85), Mitchell Booth, Mike Roose, Ian Dunn (Gareth Walsh 75), Matthew Roberts. Subs not used: Simon Holloway, Sam Brewerton, Cameron Campbell.
