LOOKING GRIM FOR RESERVES
RHYL Reserves lost the leadership of the Welsh Alliance League after Denbigh Town earned a 1-0 victory at Bethesda Athletic.
Ex-Rhyl winger Kenny Burgess' 57th minute goal was enough to put Town top on goal difference with a game in hand.
The race for the title now moves to Wednesday when Rhyl play their last game at home to eighth-placed Rhydymwyn, while Denbigh entertain Conwy United, who are ninth.
All Simon Sedgwick's side can do is try to beat Rhyd by as many goals as possible and hope Denbigh slip up in one or both of their final two matches.
If both contenders win on Wednesday, ideally, Rhyl would like to get into a position where they overtake Denbigh on goal difference, thus putting added pressure on Town to get a result in their last fixture at Llanrug next Saturday.
