SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE IN BATTLE OF BELLE VUE

By Dave Jones on Mar 30, 07 05:35 PM

SOMETHING has to give in tomorrow's Welsh Premier battle of the giants at Belle Vue.
Rhyl are unbeaten in a league match at Belle Vue since October 29, 2005, when Llanelli escaped with a fortunate 1-0 victory.

John Hulse's men have gone 24 league fixtures undefeated at home since.
Mighty TNS, meanwhile, have lost just six out of 91 league games over the past three seasons. They have won the title for the past two campaigns and are favourites to make it a hat-trick.
Since the League of Wales/Welsh Premier began, Rhyl and TNS have met 25 times. The Saints boast 14 victories, the Lilywhites eight, and there have been three draws.
Rhyl have not beaten Ken McKenna's charges since their quadruple-winning season of 2003/04.
This season the Lilies lost 2-0 at Treflan; last term they held Saints 0-0 at home but lost 1-0 away.
In 2004/05, TNS claimed a 2-1 win at Belle Vue, while the sides drew 2-2 in Mid-Wales, Rhyl conceding an injury-time equaliser.
