SIMON SAYS - "LET'S GO FIVE POINTS CLEAR"
RHYL RESERVES v GLAN CONWY
(Tuesday, March 27, 7.30pm)
RHYL Reserves can go five points clear at the Welsh Alliance summit with victory over Glan Conwy at Belle Vue tonight.
Simon Sedgwick's team saw their lead cut to two points on Saturday after nearest challengers Denbigh Town won 4-1 at Pwllheli and Sealand Rovers' resignation and expunging of their results meant the table was amended.
Rhyl will be looking for more of the spirit which saw them fight back from 2-0 down to beat Llanrug United 3-2 and reach the Barritt Cup semi-finals at the weekend.
Glan Conwy will be a tough hurdle to overcome.
Managed by former Rhyl Thirds boss and Reserves assistant Paul Moroney, the Cae Ffwt outfit are unbeaten in the league in 2007 and have lost just one of their last 11 in all competitions.
And Glan have just achieved arguably the finest moment in their history - reaching the FAW Trophy final after defeating Clydach Wasps 3-2 in the semis on March 17.
Back in November Rhyl ran out 3-0 winners at Glan Conwy, but Sedgwick was full of praise for his beaten opponents that day.
Tonight's match kicks off at 7.30pm.
