DAVE Cameron's 80th minute winner secured Rhyl a priceless three points in their quest for the Welsh Alliance title on Tuesday night (March 27).
But Simon Sedgwick side found it tough going against a Glan Conwy outfit which came to Belle Vue determined to claim a big scalp.

The visitors were positive from the word go and fired several efforts at the Rhyl goal in the opening half-hour, but none troubled keeper Paul Whitfield.
Indeed, although the Lilywhites were second best in this spell they created the two clearest chances.
In the 10th minute Cameron was through on goal but delayed his effort, instead passing to Simon Holloway who blasted wide.
Then on 25 minutes Dylan Owen sent over a cracking cross from the right but Mike Roose miscued his header.
Rhyl defender Adie Moody had to leave the field injured on 32 minutes and was replaced by the versatile Sam Brewerton, who did a solid job at the back.
Glan Conwy continued to be adventurous and Shaun Shannon went close with a free-kick before they notched a deserved lead on 42 minutes.
Andy Leater sent an excellent header over the defence into the path of Aled Stapleton who fired home left-footed from 10 yards.
Rhyl equalised in the second-minute of injury time before the interval - and the goal was not without controversy.
Glan were furious when referee Gwyn Vaughan adjudged Gareth Evans had pulled back Cameron in the area, but a penalty was awarded and Mitchell Booth stepped up to put away his 15th goal of the campaign.
After the break it was all Rhyl and they could easily have edged in front within two minutes of the restart but Brewerton was unable to hit the target from a back-post free header via a Matthew Roberts corner and last ditch Glan defending cleared the follow-up danger.
In the 61st minute a curling left-footed free-kick from the right by Roberts was acrobatically tipped away by keeper Andy Rooney.
Cameron and Booth then combined brilliantly to find Roose free eight yards out, but his firm connection was superbly kept out by Rooney.
Rhyl kept knocking at the door and were finally let in 10 minutes from time when Cameron took advantage of defensive indecision to run clear into the box and lift the ball expertly over Rooney to make it 2-1.
RHYL TEAM (with performance marks)
Paul Whitfield: Not a great deal to do apart from pick the ball out of the net. His kicking and distribution was impressive - 7.
Andy Davies: Last-minute block denied Glan a probable equaliser. Defended brilliantly against some sharp strikers - 8.
Matthew Roberts: Like a duck to water, he grew in stature in this game. His free-kicks and corners have the potential to earn Rhyl lots of goals. Tackled like a Trojan too - 8.
Adie Moody: Went off injured after 32 minutes but was sound up to then - 6.
Matthew Holt: Outstanding performance. Won everything in the air and most tackles on the deck - 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH).
Sam Shorrocks: Full of fire and commitment in the midfield. Did not let the side down in a very competitive area - 7.
Dylan Owen: Hit some cracking crosses again. Class apart on the ball at times. Substituted on 70 minutes - 7.
Mitchell Booth: Deadly from the spot, shone like a beacon in the midfield - 8.
Mike Roose: For the second match running he was denied goals by an inspired keeper. Never stopped running and deserved better reward - 7.
Dave Cameron: Earned the penalty which brought the equaliser and scored the winner. Booked needlessly for dissent, but a handful for the Glan defence all night - 8.
Simon Holloway: Dynamic in attack, but shooting was off-key - 7.
Subs:
Sam Brewerton (for Moody 32): Slotted into defensive role comfortably and looked a danger going forward - 7.
Dan Evans (for Owen 70): His pace down the right caused plenty of concern for the opposition in the closing stages - 7.
Ian Dunn (for Holloway 78): Did as much as anyone to keep Rhyl on the front-foot late on - 6.
Subs not used: Alec Williams, Matthew Passmore.
